Stretch Demolisher part 2
Should I use magnets to attach the sponsons? Will a magnet behind one of the side hatched hold the sponsons on given that they are heavy due to the metal plasma cannons?

Stretch Demolisher
This is the current project started with my son. I have always felt that the Leman Russ tank in all its variants has its turret mounted too far forward. Any shell deflected upwards by the sloped front armour will hit the gun or turret. To reduce the risk of this I have tried to stretch it adding 1cm of decking in front of the turret, and pushing everything backwards.
The rear engine and decking need to be tidied up with some smooth lines and a bit more added ablative armour.

Composition

One thing I have been enjoying lately is the pic of the day from BOLs. Models located with some scenery to give a more complex background to the image. Here is one I made earlier. The Dreadnaught is pure forgeworld resin. While the psycannon might seem an underpowered weapon say compared with a twin linked lascannon or plasma cannon I have always had a soft spot for it as one regular opponent always fielded some daemons in his Chaos SM forces.

Paint Stripping
Decided to redo and upgrade the Steel Legion in the light of the new Imperial Guard Codex. I had read on various blogs about stripping paint from models. Initially I tried nail varnish remover. Soaking the models for a few days did remove almost all paint but some still adhered in crevices. Plastic parts became soft. So it was not entirely satisfactorily. Then I read (lonepilgrim) that dettol could strip plastic as well as metal. Went into my local supermarket and found they did not stock dettol but there was their own brand disinfectant. At roughly 80p a bottle it seemed there was nothing to lose.
Here is what happened.

Immolator Finished

The Ordo Hereticus Sisters of Battle see action on countless worlds. Their tanks show the typical wear and tear of hard use and action yet they also exude the holy emperor bothering, in the words of Commissar Cain, purity of their beliefs. To try and create this weathering was applied to the lower part of the hull while hardcoat varnish was layered to the upper part of the hull and turret to give it a sheen of holiness.
