2nd Imperial Knight Finished

A weekend for Imperial Knights, acquired the new codex and finished number 2. With the new codex and latest Imperial Knight model upgrade it looks as if the Imperial Knight detachment may end up with more than 3 models. The next one on the modelling table still has to be the Forgeworld Questoris Knight Magaera as it offers a slight different appearance.

Here are some pics of the 2 Knight finished:

Also discovered a way of using ambient lighting for photography without shadows cast by the minis. I do not have a light box. No doubt every one knows this trick already.

more Imperial Knight Progress

As can be seen, some progress with Knight #2. It may look close to completion but it is not quite there yet.

Imperial Knight #2 Progress

Progress. To simplify painting the weapon arms are detachable, the leg armour has not been glued on yet and the paldrons are loose as well. The final colour scheme will be a mix of grey and yellow.

Second Imperial Knight

This is the second Imperial Knight assembled for painting. This time the shoulder pauldrons plus the carapace and leg armour have not been glued in place yet to make the painting of the machinery of the legs, arms and weapons easier. The model has been undercoated with Bolt Action German Field Grey spray. This machine is aligned with the Adeptus Mechanicus, and this time armed with the rapid fire battle cannon. Plans change.

Imperial Knight #1 Finished

It is a big beast as you can see from the unfinished Imperial buildings in the background.

The current plan is an Imperial Knight primary detachment of 3 Knights, 2 Knights errant and a Forgeworld Questoris Knight Magaera.

Back with a Stomp WIP and Grey Knights Strike #2

First off a bit of work in progress. The first of 2 Imperial Knights. A poor picture, rushed and the mini if you can call it that is not quite yet finished.

Grey Knights Strike Squad #2 is now finished. In the background another WIP, this time the building.

Finally for comparison the first Grey Knights Strike Squad.

Things are moving again after a hiatus. The Space Hulk minis are also now progressing, may show them soon, or not.

Grey Knights Again

Not much time for hobby this past month or 2 due to illness in family, but yesterday there was finally some time to photograph 2 projects. A Brother Captain "Stern". Fine cast is a nightmare to paint as the greasy surface needs good preparation before painting. Any tips. A spray of hardcote before the undercoat perhaps.

Secondly the Razorback transport for the Strike Squad, customised with some spare bits from the Dread Knight and some transfers.  Next Strike squad #2 is to be assembled  etc. And then another Razorback. After that a large transport either a Landraider or a Stormraven. The Stormraven is currently favourite. Next month marks the 7th year of this blog and only 2 more posts before the 250th. How much longer should it go on I wonder.

Grey Knights that is what is on my table

The plastic Grey Knights mini sculpts are excellent for detail and for posing and detailing.  Followers of this blog will know that some of the metal grey knight minis have been painted previously when the Daemon hunters codexs were released. Now with the new Grey Knights and Inquisition codexs there is a need to collect more Grey Knight minis to expand to a bound Grey Knights strike force. First addition was a Venerable Dreadnought. Then a Nemesis Dreadknight, Now a 10 mini Grey Knights Strike force. 5 of the minis have been assembled and 99% painted. Some details to complete, but only after all squads have been assembled and painted. Here are the first 5 minis plus an older "spare" metal grey knight. Which is it? No prizes.
